I though you might like a few tips about using the site.
Index: Jonathan’s index, written by Jesse on the new site, still lives – just scroll down! If there’s a number on the left, it’s a podcast, if not it’s an article or some such.
Podcasts: The first thing is how to get hold of the podcasts. This has it’s own tab where you can see them in the order I published them. You’ll also see them on the Homepage on the right hand side. If you want the latest I’ll always put that on the slider on the home page. The Members Only Shedcasts are clearly marked, and if you are not a member – then No Go I’m afraid.
Everything you need to know (hopefully) about becoming a member is under the ‘Become a Member’ tab on the website. Or if you are a Member, it’ll be called ‘Members’, so you can go get more information about downloading the Shedcasts and all that.
The site’s been re-designed to make it easier to see what additional resources are available for each podcast. At the moment these are maps, family trees, regnal lists, original documents and some articles. If you go into the Podcasts tab, you see all of them down the right hand side. If you go into a particular podcast, you’ll see a list specific to that podcast.
Eras: This tab allows you to see the podcasts and resources relating to a particular period, if you are interested just in say, Henry II and the Angevins.
Resources: If you want to read around the subject this is where you can see what resources (as mentioned above) are available for each period.
Themes: this shows a list of podcasts which cover particular themes. I can’t claim this is anything very special – you’ll have to listen to the full podcast to pick out the relevant theme – such as constitutional development in episode 59 on King John and the Magna Carta for example. But you’ll also see resources and articles too.
